  • Wmsburg Sat Bike Events: Pedal Parkway (closed) & Free Tune-ups

    Williamsburg area hosts two cycling events Saturday for National Bike Month.
    Pedal the Parkway closes a 7-mile section of Colonial Parkway to vehicles from 6 am to 1 pm for cycling, walking, and running from 7 am to noon.
    Participants age 16 and older must purchase a $15 park entrance pass.
    Bikes Out of Hibernation offers free bike inspections, tune-ups, safety checks, and free helmets Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.
    This bike maintenance event takes place at the Jamestown Settlement parking lot.
    Both events encourage safe riding and prepare cyclists for the season.

    New Kent is celebrating the 250th anniversary of Patrick Henry’s 1775 march this weekend. The event commemorates Henry leading a militia through New Kent toward Williamsburg after Governor Dunmore seized gunpowder. Activities include historical presentations, military encampments, drills by a regiment, and a portrayal of Patrick Henry. Events take place at the New Kent Ordinary, the courthouse, and Henry’s Scotchtown home. The New Kent Historical Society and Historic Commission organized the free public celebration.

  • Williamsburg Women’s Chorus Spring Concert May 13 7:30pm WPC $15/10

    The Williamsburg Women’s Chorus will present their spring concert, “Our Voice: Music of Our Time,” featuring works by six modern composers, on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Road. Suggested donation is $15 for adults and $10 for students.

    The Revolutionary BBQ Brawl and Music Festival runs Friday through Sunday at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, featuring food, music, and activities.
    The 59th annual Art on the Square, a juried art show hosted by the Junior Women’s Club, is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Duke of Gloucester Street, benefiting local arts.
    Williamsburg hosts its fifth annual Community Appreciation Day on April 30 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the Community Building Lawn with games, music, and crafts to celebrate residents.
