Warhill High School presents ‘The Little Mermaid’ musical May 2-4
Warhill High School in Williamsburg will present its spring musical, “The Little Mermaid,” from May 2 to May 4. Performances are scheduled for May 2 at 7 p.m., May 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and May 4 at 2 p.m. Director Jacob Noble selected the show to engage the wider community with a family-friendly production. The cast includes senior Ashley Remmert as Ariel and senior Ava Shird as Ursula. Approximately 60 students are in the cast, 25 on the tech crew, and 30 in the pit orchestra, with students taking on significant roles in vocals, choreography, design, and construction. VA March 2025: More Listings, Buyers Appear; Prices Climb
Virginia’s housing market reported more listings and buyer activity in March 2025, according to Virginia REALTORS. Pending home sales increased by 5.1% in March compared to the previous year. Closed sales in March were down 4.5% statewide compared to March 2024. Active listings grew by nearly 30% year-over-year at the end of March. New Kent is celebrating the 250th anniversary of Patrick Henry’s 1775 march this weekend. The event commemorates Henry leading a militia through New Kent toward Williamsburg after Governor Dunmore seized gunpowder. Activities include historical presentations, military encampments, drills by a regiment, and a portrayal of Patrick Henry. Events take place at the New Kent Ordinary, the courthouse, and Henry’s Scotchtown home. The New Kent Historical Society and Historic Commission organized the free public celebration.
