Rep. Wittman champions bill boosting Chesapeake Bay conservation, farms & economy

U.S. Representative Rob Wittman highlighted the importance of practical, science-based conservation for the Chesapeake Bay in a recent commentary. He introduced the Chesapeake Bay Conservation Acceleration Act aimed at helping watershed farms reduce runoff and improve water quality. The proposed act would also address technical assistance needs for farmers and manage invasive blue catfish populations. Wittman referenced the recently signed America’s Conservation Enhancement Reauthorization Act as a successful bipartisan conservation effort and urged Congress to pass his new bill to benefit the bay and its related industries.
