Williamsburg Slam Connection wins state, 6th at nationals

Williamsburg’s Slam Connection poetry team won the Virginia Team Poetry Slam Championship at the Kimball Theatre on May 30. The team then competed at the national Southern Fried Poetry Slam in Knoxville, Tennessee, placing sixth overall from June 11-14. Team founder LaCroy Nixon noted the achievement is significant for Williamsburg’s poetry scene.
